Insect IQ uses a special type of attic insulation that also kills certain pests and prevents them from infesting your home. How Does Insulation Control Pests?

First of all, insulation is simply difficult for pests to crawl through. In addition, our insulation is treated with a pest-control additive that is deadly to certain pests. Pests that our insulation can deter include:

How is Insect IQ Insulation Different from Normal Insulation?

Insect IQ’s specialized insulation is made of cellulose and recycled paper treated with boric acid. Borate is a naturally occurring mineral commonly used in household cleaning. In small quantities, such as in our insulation, it’s safe for humans and animals, but deadly for the bugs we’ve discussed. This treatment won’t work for larger pests, like rodents, but is very effective against bugs.

How Our Insulation Process Works

Whether we’re starting from scratch or adding to your existing insulation, every service starts the same way – with a comprehensive inspection to locate any existing pest problems or structural vulnerabilities. If any other steps need to be taken as a result of this inspection, we’ll let you know – every service is tailored to your needs. Otherwise, each insulation process goes roughly like this:

1. Inspection. We inspect your space for vulnerabilities and existing infestations.
2. Preparation. Once the area is inspected, we’ll get it prepared for the insulation.
3. Installation. We use blown insulation for the most effective coverage and efficient application.
4. It’s that simple! Once we’re done, we clean up after ourselves and head out.
